Sumpter Valley Railroad Archives
The archives of the Sumpter Valley Railroad Restoration Inc. contain images, artifacts, and paperwork from the Sumpter Valley Railway Company, Oregon Lumber Company, Stoddard Lumber Company, W.H. Eccles Lumber Company, Baker White Pine, Cavanaugh Lumber Company, the Mt. Hood Railway, and the Sumpter Valley Railroad Restoration Inc. The archive is not yet fully cataloged, but it is available for limited viewing and research with an appointment on most operating weekends.
The Sumpter Valley Railroad is actively seeking additional items and information that can help tell the story of northeast Oregon's railroad and logging heritage. If you have information or artifacts that you are willing to donate, share, or allow to be duplicated please visit the Sumpter passenger station on operating weekends. You can also contact the Sumpter Valley Railroad's archivist Taylor Rush for donations, or to arrange a visit to the archives at firstname.lastname@example.org, or via phone at 541-979-8884. All donors will be provided with a tax-deductible donation slip for the appraised or estimated value of any donated items.
